PRESS RELEASE

JENNA TO TRAIN IN BRITAIN AGAIN!

Five times British Ladies Ice Skating Champion and 8th in Europe Jenna McCorkell will be arriving back in Britain soon to continue her competitive career with coach Yuri Bureiko, AKR Promotions officially announced today Friday 13th June 2008. Karin Rowland's who is Jenna's PR Consultant commented:

'Jenna has always maintained, as part of her training, her connection to Yuri Bureiko, who was her full-time coach from the age of 14 years until two years ago. In fact Yuri has continued to work on various aspects of both her programmes last season as well as Kevin's and other top skaters from around the country and indeed further afield. To be based in Coventry again makes sense for Jenna for a variety of reasons, her permanent home will be in Belgium of course, but her training base will now be split between Belgium and Coventry, this will make meeting relatives from 'back home' much more accessible as well.

Jenna who recently married Belgian Champion and European Bronze Medallist 2007 Kevin Van der Perren commented:

'To be working with Yuri again will be like coming home. I had continued to work with Yuri even though I moved to Belgium two years ago and he has always continued to have an input in my programmes, so I am delighted that we will be working together again on a more full-time basis.'

GREAT RESULT FOR JENNA!
Report by AKR Promotions
www.akrpromotions.com

21 Year Old Jenna McCorkell from Coleraine, has exceeded all expectations at the European Championships 2008 in Zagreb today 26/01/08 by moving into the top ten rankings of Europe! It is the first time a British skater has made top ten for over 20+ years since Joanne Conway, so this is a fantastic achievement.

Jenna had put in a spellbinding performance in the short programme on the Friday afternoon where she held the lead until the final six skaters, in fact only 100th of a point separated Jenna and the top six! Finding herself in this position was a surprise for a delighted Jenna who spoke to her PR Consultant from Zagreb following her fantastic display on the Friday evening:

‘I couldn’t have imagined in my wildest dreams to be sitting in this position, but whatever happens in the free I am delighted with how I have skated already, this is a huge thing for me, and I have proven to myself and everyone that I can compete along with the best in Europe at these Championships.’

In fact Jenna had the highest technical score on the day beating the best in Europe including the current European Champion Carolina Kostner, and only three points separated 3rd place to seventh place it was a lifetime best for Jenna in the Short Programme. In the free programme Jenna made a couple of errors incurring a two point deduction but even with this she was still able to make top five in the technical score in the Free Programme....

Karin Rowlands, AKR Promotions, Jenna’s PR consultant commented:

‘I have never seen Jenna skate so well in both programmes at this level, it was world class skating – wonderful she is nudging the top group now and has actually moved up an incredible 7 places overall on last year in the European Championships! All the miles she has put in over the years on and off the ice has paid off and we are now starting to see Jen come off age. She looked so relaxed and confident, she is a very down to earth girl and is taking this all in her stride, with that said it is an extremely exciting time for British ice skating and everyone in Northern Ireland and elsewhere will be celebrating this fantastic achievement for one of our top sportspersons who has achieved so much at such a young age. This is just the beginning of the extraordinary story that is Jenna McCorkell...’

Jenna is now in preparation for the World Championships at the end of March she is in excellent contention to make her goal for this season. Keep up-to-date on Jenna’s new interactive website: www.jennamccorkell.com

Press release National Ice Skating Association

Jenna wins 5th British Senior Ladies Title January 2008
BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007/08

NISA Saturday 12th January, saw the culmination of the week long British Championships. Capacity crowds at iceSheffield saw, what was perhaps, the most competitive finish to a senior mens event for a great number of years. At the completion of the short programme, only 0.96 points separated the top four skaters. After a very hard fought competition, Elliot Hilton finished first with 149.72 points.

In the ladies section, Jenna McCorkell finished first with 142.76 points. It is very encouraging to see Jenna’s return to form and giving performances that we all know she is capable of. Her return to form is just coming at the right time ahead of the European Championships.

In the dance competition, John and Sinead Kerr finished first with 169.26 points followed by Pippa Towler-Green and Philip Poole who produced a personal best score of 150.74 and finally Stacey Kemp and David King won the senior pairs with 178.99 points.

In addition to the singles/pairs and dance, NISA also for the first year ever included IJS Synchronized skating in with the event. This gave an additional buzz to the proceedings on the Saturday. It is very good to see so many enthusiastic young skaters who are all involved in this discipline.

Immediately following the British, the team for the European Championships was announced and with so many skaters coming to form at this time we look forward to some very encouraging results from this years Championships.

Finally a very special thanks to all the volunteers, judges and officials who as always, give freely of their time to support NISA events and without whose help we most certainly would not be able to provide the support to our skaters. Whilst it was a very long and tiring week, the quality of the skating was good, organization excellent and very refreshing to see the capacity crowd on the Saturday.
Look forward to seeing you all in Nottingham for the 2008/09 Championships.

JENNA AND RONAN – IRISH STARS HEAD FOR ICE SHOW!
One of Europe’s most spectacular ice shows – Art on Ice - comes to Sheffield on Sunday February 17th – bringing with it leading figure skaters from around the world. One of the latest skaters to be added to the line-up is five times British Figure Skating Champion and European and World competitor JENNA McCORKELL. Jenna from Coleraine in Northern Ireland will perform alongside a host of stars from the world of ice and music. Launched in Europe in 1995, the breath-taking Art On Ice extravaganza combines the beauty, grace and skill of figure skating with renowned musical stars performing live. As the first show of its kind to combine live music with striking performances, its aim is to appeal not only to lovers of ice dance, but also those who may have never seen a live skating event before.

Ronan Keating has been announced as the singing artist, which will probably be the only chance to see Ronan singing solo prior to the newly announced Boyzone dates in 2008. This makes it a double for Ireland, as Ronan Keating and Jenna McCorkell will be the first two Irish performers to participate in this unique Ice Show. Both will also be supported by the incredible singing voice of Icelandic Tenor Cortes, who at 32 breaks every stereotype in the classical music book. acts.

AKR Promotions who represent Jenna commented:
